Cheesy Familia

About a month and a half ago Jesse and I flew east, met up with my brother Matthew and visited our Jevne family, which consists of Grandma and Grandpa and many uncles, aunts and cousins. When I told people I was going to Wisconsin most seemed to want to apologize for my misfortune but I had to stick up for my memories of Madison in September; cool mornings with beautiful light, free zoos (well just one), bike-friendly streets, great shopping, fewer mosquitos and humidity (than in mid-summer), and wonderful people. We were NOT dissapointed. We stayed with uncle Gil and aunt Bon on Beautiful Baltzel Street. We visted with Grandma and Grandpa, had a fabulous family backyard BBQ at my cousin, Shannon’s, and biked around the entire city. My highlights were seeing my Grandma laugh and smile, having great conversation with with Gil, Bon, Jesse and Matty, and of course eating Michael’s Frozen Custard, the yummiest treat, well, whatever side of the Mississippi that is. Here are a few pictures of our time in the Cheese State.

I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be gone for so long. Here’s the deal: in an effort to get my professional life a little more organized, I’m moving my blogging duties over to my newly-redesigned-launched-5-minutes-ago work site. Can you sense my excitement? So head on over to jesserosten.com and check out some of the new spots and new photography. Be sure to bookmark, RSS, or follow via Facebook and Twitter to stay up-to-date as new content is added. And don’t worry, Rosten Translation isn’t going anywhere. I’m handing the keys over to Lyn.
